Client: Ministry of Justices and Attorney General

Purpose: The Guardian application is a mission critical Trust Management application that is used by the Ministry of Justice to manage personal funds of Customers who are not legally entitled or otherwise able to manage their own finances. The Guardian application allows the Saskatchewan Public Guardian and Trustee to carry out their responsibilities for administering the property and finances of persons who are mentally incompetent, children under the age of 18 years, and beneficiaries of estates of deceased persons. The Guardian application processes incomes, expenses, tax forms, assets, budgets, capital gains, and other personal funds. The Guardian system does the following:

• Protect the property rights of children under the age of eighteen.

• Administer the property and finances of adults who are incapable of managing their financial affairs, monitor other property guardians and investigate allegations of financial abuse.

• Administer the estates of deceased persons.

• Hold and administer unclaimed property.

Purpose:  The Provincial Disaster Assistance Program (PDAP) helps residents, small businesses, agricultural operations, First Nations, non-profit organizations and communities recover from natural disasters, including flooding, tornadoes, plow winds, and other disasters caused by severe weather. PDAP may help cover the cost of uninsurable essential losses, cleanup, repairs, and temporary relocation.
